Carpe diem..

Carpe diem is a phrase from a Latin poem by Horace has become an adage. It is popularly translated as "seize the day." In Horace’s words “the future is unforeseen, and that instead one should scale back one's hopes to a brief future, and drink one's wine.”

Life is often surprising, offering us twists and turns in the change of one day. Life is absolutely beautiful though in its complexities. We are often quick to blame a source outside ourselves for having things not go our way. Whether it be the job interview we didn’t secure; the fact that we don’t look like the person we so admire or that we’re not in love hand-in with the person our heart so desires.

The truth is... everything is always as it should. I know it may not be as we would rather have it at that present time but what if we chose to see that which you are experiencing as exactly that, an experience. There is a lesson in it all even though it may be as uncomfortable as hell, perhaps even unbearable. Drink deeply in each moment as you may not have it again. Be patient with your experiences, it is not always clear why they are there and what it is they have come to teach you.

Don't stress so much about what may come in the next moment. All we truly have is this very moment her, now. Stress less, drink more (drinking deeply that is). Carpe diem friends!

Aim high, Roam free...
