Last week Thursday we celebrated Women’s day and on that day, I had the pleasure of driving down to Durban with my mother, twin sister and younger brother. I know that doesn’t sound like the most exciting thing to do in celebration of the day but I honestly can’t think of a better place to have been.
Although the trip took all of 12 hours, I had the pleasure of experiencing magic as you will see for yourself in the pictures below. Life truly is beautiful, in its simplest form. I say this because I think I may have stood at the very peak of happiness. Family, travel, beach and the laughter and sharing in between is the fastest way to fill any cup filled with gloom. Does one need much else?
It is my hope that everyone can appreciate their loved ones, accompanied by the little things of life whilst they can. Deeply…. Fully. After all it’s free and the benefits are beyond articulation. With that I wanted to leave you with this insert from an old O Mag my friend, mentor and colleague Randa sent me this morning:
“Dear Emotional Creature: I believe in you. I believe in your authenticities, your uniqueness, your intensity, your wildness. I love the way you dye your hair purple, or hike up your short skirt, or blare your music while you lip-synch every single memorized lyric.
I love your restlessness and your hunger. You possess the energy that, if unleashed, could transform, inspire and heal the world.”
Love,
Eve Ensler
